AUTOBOND APPOINTS SOUTH AFRICAN DISTRIBUTOR

June 2009 - UK manufacturer Autobond, which leads the world in sheet-fed laminator technology, has appointed Beswick Office Products (Pty) Ltd to represent it in the growing South African print market. The Autobond distributorship comes under Beswick Office Products Print Finishing Division, which provides trade finishers, printers, copyshops and in-house facilities management companies with a full range of lamination, binding and related finishing products.
“South Africa is a growing market for us and we reached a stage where it made sense to have local representation,” says Autobond managing director John Gilmore. “When we met the key people at Beswick we were immediately impressed by their commitment, market knowledge, and the degree to which the company will be able to provide our customers with a fast, on-site service via its well established network of engineers.”
Gavin Beswick was one of the people who visited Autobonds factory in Derbyshire. “We knew of Autobonds sheet-fed laminators plus its reputation as an innovative manufacturer, and could see an opening to provide industry leading B3 – B1 laminators to the printers and finishing houses that we were already serving,” says Mr Beswick.
“We liked John Gilmore and his team, and once we had toured Autobonds factory we were in no doubt that representing Autobond in our home territory presented us with an excellent opportunity. Autobond had already sold laminators into South Africa and there were very good reports about the success of these installations, so we were convinced that these sales could be built on significantly.”
