Alwan Print Standardizer v1.1 Breathes New Life Into Press Auto-Scanning Devices
Thursday 19. November 2009 - Following the worldwide success of its PRINT Standardizer, Alwan Color Expertise opens its new 1.1 version to online auto-scanning devices embedded in sheet-fed presses
Alwan Color Expertise, the global leader in standardization solutions, is to open its automatic standardizing solution, PRINT Standardizer, to all presses equipped with online auto-scanning devices such as Komori PDC-SI/PDC-SII and Heidelberg ImageControl. The decision follows strong demand from Alwans partners and many standardization organizations, and will enable printers to cost-effectively improve performance and comply with standards. PRINT Standardizer was originally designed to support Intellitrax, X-Rites press-side auto-scanning device.
Alwan launched PRINT Standardizer, the first automated color quality control and ISO 12647 press standardizing solution, in March 2009. PRINT Standardizer is a response to the fast-growing need for standards in the industry. The solution provides printers with an easy and affordable way to achieve ISO 12647 conformance on digital and conventional presses.
When connected to an auto-scanning device, Alwan PRINT Standardizer (APS) ensures presses conform to the three requirements of ISO 12647: solids (CIELAB colors), dot gain (TVI), and mid-tone spread. And with Alwans unique dynamic dot gain compensation technology, ISO conformance is achieved automatically in production. There is no need to conduct costly, time-consuming and often insufficient test or calibration print sessions.
Successful installations
The first installations of APS v1.1 were conclusive and met expectations.
With an L740 Komori press and an embedded PDC-SI auto-scanning device, an LS640 Komori press with PDC-SII, and a Heidelberg Speedmaster with X-Rite ATS, Harding Poorman proved the ideal site to demonstrate the benefits of the latest version of PRINT Standardizer.
