Introducing SPEEDLINER 2.0 in-line stitching systems for a worry-free stitching process
Tuesday 13. October 2009 - With SPEEDLINER 2.0 Tolerans has taken its proven stitching technology to the next level, and created an advanced and reliable stitching system that is even easier to maintain and operate.
In-line stitching is a growing trend in the newspaper publishing and commercial print industry, in large part because stitching supports the increasingly popular compact format for newspapers. Stitching has already become the norm in many places, like Europe, and experts believe this paradigm shift is becoming the industry standard.
Swedish manufacturer Tolerans has been the world leader in the area of in-line stitching since the first stitcher was developed in 1968. The original SPEEDLINER series of stitchers, capable of running at full production speed and beyond, was introduced in 2002 and has proven to be the most reliable array of in-line stitchers on the market. Inspired by this success, Tolerans has taken it to the next level and created a high-end stitching system that is even easier to maintain and operate, reducing cost of maintenance and minimizing down-time.
“We have put a lot of effort into developing a system where its easy to change wear and spare parts without manual adjustments. With the new control system, its even easier to operate. The new graphical user interface is user-friendly and intuitive. This to ensure a worry-free stitching process,” says Tolerans CEO Jan Melin.
SPEEDLINER 2.0 stitchers are available as ribbon or cylinder stitchers with shaftless drive, and they fit in almost all presses. They are perfect for cross web stitching of compact-sized printed products (such as newspaper and commercial products in tabloid, mini-Berliner, or A4 sizes). They are appropriate for any web width, and are designed to stitch in either straight or collect mode. They can stitch at speeds beyond full production speed.
The SPEEDLINER 2.0 in-line stitching systems can be viewed at IFRA Expo, Tolerans stand B120.
