Monday 28. September 2009 - UNISET with heatset equipment now in production

The Michailow-S printing company in Smolensk, Russia, has equipped its UNISET for heatset production.

Expanded product portfolio
Besides newsprint and offset papers, the UNISET with heatset equipment including a gas dryer at Michailow-S now enables this innovative printing company to offer products printed on supercalendered and coated papers. Whether it be high-grade newspaper products with different color content, pagination and run lengths, or periodicals, magazines and brochures, the flexibility of the printing system also permits economical production of shorter runs with very low waste levels and a wide variety of formats.

Planning and service: manroland project team did a fine job
The installation of the new printing towers was not permitted to interrupt or interfere with the company’s production – the print products had to appear strictly in accordance with the time schedules. The service engineers from manroland and HGS managed this difficult assignment brilliantly. Michael Beier, Managing Director of manroland Russia, has this to say about the successful undertaking: “We see this project as a fine example of how a printing company can become more competitive even under the present market conditions. The focus here was on flexibility, automation and cost efficiency. We at manroland will continue providing ongoing support for our business partners in Russia and the neighboring markets.”
