Hispanic Business Magazine Names Pitney Bowes to 2009 “Diversity Elite” List

Wednesday 23. September 2009 - Pitney Bowes Inc. (NYSE: PBI) today announced that it has been named to the 2009 "Diversity Elite" list by Hispanic Business magazine. This is an annual list that measures a company’s commitment to Hispanic hiring, promotion, marketing, philanthropy and supplier diversity. The list is published annually in the September issue.

According to Hispanic Business, companies on the “Diversity Elite” list went well beyond workforce diversity initiatives and implemented strategies to reach more Hispanic customers and increase their businesses with minority- and Hispanic-owned suppliers. Companies on the list met or exceeded criteria in diversity measures including: board and leadership, recruitment, retention and promotion, marketing and community outreach and supplier diversity.
Pitney Bowes’s approach to workforce diversity and inclusion includes four dimensions: representation, recruitment, retention and leadership. The company aims to reflect the diversity of available talent at company locations, working with external partners to recruit individuals who will strengthen the company’s diversity. In addition, Pitney Bowes regularly pursues business with minority owned businesses through its supplier diversity program.
