Monday 21. September 2009 - Provides customer with best-of-breed components for cost-effective output solutions

InfoPrint Solutions Company, a joint venture between IBM and Ricoh, today announced a suite of Print On-Demand (POD) solutions that enables printers to create valuable variable data output, connect with customers, prepare and manage files, and produce high-quality monochrome and color output. This newest offering extends the company’s POD portfolio and addresses the printing demands of service bureaus and commercial, in-plant and digital printers.

This suite is equipped with a full collection of hardware, software and third-party solutions allowing for truly customizable implementations to meet the needs and requirements of different customers. With such software provider partners as Enfocus, GMC, IoFlex, Objectif Lune, Press-Sense, RSA, Ultimate and others, the InfoPrint POD portfolio enables printing for output such as books, marketing collateral, direct mail, newsletters, business cards and manuals.

“This latest enhancement to our POD portfolio is a perfect example of InfoPrint’s understanding of our customers’ business needs and our proven ability to solve their complex problems and meet their technical requirements,” said Brian Moroney, Print On-Demand Strategy and Market Development Manager, InfoPrint. “Through work with our third party partners, we have developed a customizable end-to-end workflow framework that can target a customer’s specific need and supply them with the appropriate solution extremely cost-effectively.”

The four key workflow categories of InfoPrint’s POD Suite are:

• Create – Develop variable data printing (VDP) and customized document composition. This POD suite adds more value to clients’ documents by providing focused one-to-one messaging and image personalization. InfoPrint offers products such as GMC’s PrintNet and Objectif Lune’s PrintShop Mail and PlanetPress that enable companies of all sizes to produce valuable VDP

• Connect – Connect with customers by implementing Web-to-Print solutions that provide online tools to automate job submission to production. This suite of offerings can support a spectrum of print production needs using Press-Sense’s iWay/Manager or RSA’s WebCRD solution

• Prepare – Automate repetitive tasks to more efficiently manage shorter print runs, faster turnaround times and complex set-ups while improving productivity. With this, customers can support complex imposition needs with Ultimate’s suite of Impostrip products and meet scan and make-ready requirements with products from Enfocus, Ioflex and Ultimate. InfoPrint Manager and InfoPrint ProcessDirector (IPPD) software can provide powerful, centralized production management and automation

• Produce – develop high quality color and monochrome output on both cutsheet and production printers, using a variety of in-line and off-line finishing solutions. With this flexibility, customers can choose from a broad range of products that meet their needs on a one-to-one level
