Kodak and ShareSquared, Inc. Sign Agreement to Enhance Invoice Processing Application for MICROSOFT SHAREPOINT Server

Friday 11. September 2009 - Kodak and ShareSquared, Inc. announce plans to enhance ShareSquared’s invoice processing automation system powered by MICROSOFT OFFICE SHAREPOINT SERVER (MOSS). Development plans include the use of KODAK Capture Pro Software, v 2.0 to automate the process of extracting specific data from scanned paper invoices and releasing that content into SHAREPOINT document libraries.

ShareSquared’s MOSS-based application, coupled with Kodak’s document capture technology, helps businesses automate the invoice approval process and includes support for complex business rules associated with the routing and approval of invoices. Automated invoice processing tools are in high demand among businesses seeking to improve efficiency and cut administrative costs. A study conducted by the Aberdeen Group in 2006 suggests that most companies process more than 80 percent of their invoices on paper. However, among those organizations, only 17 percent utilize some form of electronic data capture.

“KODAK Capture Pro Software is the perfect complement to our invoice processing application because of its ability to capture OCR data and metadata, and release this data into SHAREPOINT,” said David Kruglov, Managing Director, ShareSquared. “The integration of Kodak’s software with the MICROSOFT SHAREPOINT product reduces manual keystrokes and input errors associated with the verification and coding of invoices. The system enables businesses to receive, digitize, route, approve, process, archive and search invoices and associated data, as well as to analyze their committed capital and other financial metrics.”

ShareSquared joined Kodak’s Independent Software Vendor program following its recent designation as a Microsoft Certified Master for SHAREPOINT. ShareSquared is the first U.S. based company to receive this level of certification, which serves as a testament to their unparalleled experience and proficiency in designing and implementing applications based on the SHAREPOINT platform.

“We’re pleased to see companies like ShareSquared and Kodak using SHAREPOINT as the foundation for mission critical business applications such as invoice processing. With the added features in the upcoming release of the 2010 version of SHAREPOINT, we expect to see a lot more of these types of applications appearing on the horizon,” said Kathleen Winder, Director of SharePoint Marketing for Microsoft. “Applications like this from forward-thinking companies like ShareSquared and Kodak will drive the future of Office 2010 and subsequent growth and direction of SHAREPOINT.”

“To meet the complex needs of our customer’s business challenges, Kodak continues to forge relationships that will complement our advanced capabilities in document imaging,” said Don McMahan, Vice President of Sales, Regional Business Manager, Document Imaging, Kodak’s Business Solutions and Services Group. “Our efforts with ShareSquared demonstrate that with the right integration of technologies, businesses can affordably implement electronic content management solutions. We are delighted with the opportunity to work together with such a strong player in the SHAREPOINT community. We expect great success from our new relationship.”
