Friday 21. August 2009 - HP today announced that data management and printing company, Ovimex, in Deventer, Netherlands, has installed an HP Indigo press 5500 to enhance its digital printing capabilities.

Ovimex provides a range of marketing and business solutions relating to data integration and management, e-commerce, publishing and commercial print. It requires a variety of printing systems in order to meet its customers’ needs and currently has the capacity to offer offset and digital printing.

“We have been providing digitally printed products, such as personalised direct marketing materials, since the 1990s,” said Roland Wolters, production manager, Ovimex. “Our new HP Indigo press 5500 complements our existing HP Indigo press 5000 and an HP Indigo w3250 Digital Press, and means our customers receive the highest quality products, using the printing method that best suits their requirements. The wide-colour gamut of the HP Indigo press 5500, which includes light cyan and light magenta inks, enables us to provide prints of true photographic quality and the high-quality print and colour reproduction achievable on the HP Indigo press 5500 makes it ideal for high-profile, short-run jobs.”

HP Indigo Light Cyan and Light Magenta (LC/LM) inks provide an improved colour range and smoother tone transitions for premium, photo quality products. The advanced colour accuracy and consistency of the HP Indigo press 5500 is due to the HP ElectroInk liquid ink technology and robust colour management with HP Professional PANTONE emulation and ICC profiles.

Wolters said, “The variable data printing capabilities of the HP Indigo press 5500 gives Ovimex a significant competitive advantage. Our customers are always impressed by the ability to make each print unique, and at an affordable price.”

To further increase the application range available to its customers, Ovimex also opted for the thick substrate kit. This solution enables printing on substrates up to 400g/m2 and each drawer can be modified, so that normal papers can be loaded at the same time as thicker media for maximum flexibility.
