TOTAL PROCESSING & PACKAGING UNCOVERS A POSITIVE OUTLOOK AMONGST THE INDUSTRY
Friday 07. August 2009 - Many exhibitors and visitors for Total Processing & Packaging 2010 are anticipating a more positive outlook for the economy in 2010.
Recent research undertaken by the organiser, Reed Exhibitions, has found that 69% of respondents are expecting that they will start to see an economic upturn during 2010. Even more encouraging, the survey has revealed that 76% of respondents expect order activity to start rising even earlier – at some point during the second half of 2009.
While conditions remain tough for many companies at the moment, the vast majority still recognise the value of both marketing and new product development – 89% agree that it is important to maintain and invest in these activities during a recession. And despite the current climate, well over half the respondents – 67% – say they will continue to invest in equipment in the coming year.
“It is clear that many companies have recognised the importance of being prepared for the upturn, and this means remaining outward looking, continuing to market themselves, monitoring latest trends, and developing and investing in new products and technologies so they can cope with new customer demands as the market recovers,” comments Ian Crawford, Group Exhibition Director for Total Processing & Packaging.
“Total Processing & Packaging 2010, as the UKs largest event of its kind, will provide the ideal forum for exhibitors to display their latest developments and innovations and for visitors to research and discuss their particular requirements with relevant suppliers.”
