Countdown to PACK PRINT INTERNATIONAL 2009

PACK PRINT INTERNATIONAL 2009 will open its doors in Bangkok, Thailand on 23 September and the signs are already positive that the Kingdoms printing and packaging sectors are enjoying the fruits of industry consolidation and impending recovery in the region. The Board of Investment (BOI), for example, reports that printing and packaging exports are expected to grow 25% to US$3.47 billion this year because several Japanese and Singaporean firms have relocated their regional manufacturing centers to Thailand.
According to Thai Printing Association President Pornchai Rattanachaikanont, “Thailand is in close competition with Singapore to become the printing hub of Southeast Asia,” and Thailands latest gains bode well for future investment in both printing and packaging. In fact Thailand has been ranked No.1 in Southeast Asia for two years consecutively in terms of exports and its printing industry is viewed by the government as a new star performer.

Whether its the Dubuit 249 from Dubuit Far East, the imagePRESS from Canon, the KY-A403 from Kao Yeh Machine Industrial, or large format printing solutions from the likes of HP, Seiko, Flora, Durst, ColorGATE, X-rite, Nazdar Lyson, and Pros Media, PPI will showcase the appropriate printing solution for all types of printing operations.
For its part Riso, the world leader in high speed inkjet printers and digital duplicators, will present the newest technology in color inkjet printers with the worlds fastest speed of 150 ppm at lowest ink cost utilizing its Forcejet printing technology.
Another highlight in printing will be the new Beiren Web Offset 40B and the new Mitsubishi Diamond V3000 presses exhibited by SM Graphic Center.
In the area of binding, Muller Martini will present its compact Pantera adhesive binde that not only provides great flexibility in tight spaces, but now also handles PUR binding for the lower performance range, in addition to conventional hotmelt.
Show attendees can also view the latest flexible packaging solutions from PT Toppan Printing Indonesia, Sister company Shanghai Toppan Printing will also be at the show with its flexible packaging solutions focused on safety, hygiene and the environment. Siam Toppan Packaging, meanwhile, will present offset cartons incorporating various options and high tech printing, UV printing on metallized/hologram surfaces and clear cartons, emboss-look printing, scent packaging and blister pads. Another highlight will be the companys full-scale services for product design, and packing and assembly lines.
Packaging materials will also be at the fore with Yupo synthetic paper made from polypropylene highlighted by Star Paper International and various polyethylene film options from Sunsea Plastics.
