The Pepsi Bottling Group Finalizes Acquisition of Massachusetts Bottler

Tuesday 28. July 2009 - The Pepsi Bottling Group, Inc. (NYSE: PBG) today announced that it has completed its acquisition of Pepsi-Cola Bottlers for the Merrimack Valley, Inc. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

The Haverhill, MA-based company is a Pepsi-Cola franchised bottler serving northeastern Massachusetts.

PBG has now completed four U.S. bottler acquisitions since the beginning of 2008. The company also recently announced plans to acquire Ab-Tex Beverage, Ltd., a Pepsi-Cola and Dr Pepper bottler based in Abilene, Texas. The Ab-Tex transaction is expected to close in the third quarter.
