Watchdata Provides More than Ten Million Smart Cards to Singapore Card Issuers

Watchdata, one of the leading innovative smart card and contactless technology solutions providers in the world, is the first vendor to comply fully with the Singapore Standard for Contactless ePurse Application (CEPAS), winning contracts to supply smart cards for a nationwide application in Singapore. Watchdata has already issued more than ten million multi-application smart cards to various card issuers in Singapore. Currently, Watchdata is the only card vendor capable of supplying fully CEPAS-compliant cards.

The TimeCOS(R) contactless smart card uses Watchdata’s innovative technology solution, and in addition to being CEPAS- compliant, it conforms to the highest level of security, CC EAL5+.

In and around Singapore, people are able to use CEPAS-compliant cards for contactless payment for goods and services that include contactless payment of local transport services, vending machine, fast food restaurants and convenience stores.
