MECFORPACK, EDITION II: THE RECOVERY STARTS IN BOLOGNA!

Even if the figures are not definitive yet, preliminary results for the automatic packing and packaging machine sector for 2008 are unquestionably positive, particularly when taking into account the trends that have affected markets around the world since the second half of last year. In fact, UCIMA – the Italian Association of Automatic Packing and Packaging Machinery Manufacturers – has noted an almost certain increase in turnover with respect to 2007 (+5.8%), registering a particularly positive dynamic in terms of exports (+4%). An even more recent market monitoring on orders received in March of 2009 has confirmed the sectors outstanding resistance, with demand remaining high in spite of the difficulty users currently have in finding financial resources. Special mention must be made of the fact that exports have also held up. However, the growth seen in the internal market is even more important, and is capable of bringing about an improvement in overall results with respect to the first two months of this year (source: UCIMA Press Office – 06/05/2009).
The situation described above is the ideal introduction to the edition II of MECFORPACK – the Exhibition Fair focusing on Precision Mechanics, Innovative Materials, Engineering & Technologies, Electronics, and Components for the design and production of Automatic Packaging Machines and Systems – which will be held at the Bologna exhibition centre on November 12-13, 2009. Just like the figures have shown, the automatic packing and packaging machinery sector is clearly moving against the market trend when compared to other industrial sectors, with MECFORPACK fully confirming its standing as a truly original event within the scope of the European trade fair calendar.
