Environmental protection with a quality seal

Monday 15. June 2009 - Europapiers commitment to comprehensive sustainability in paper products and the acutely important commitment to sustainable forestry that goes along with it, was officially confirmed through successful certification with FSC and PEFC Chain of Custody standards.

The FSC label has been introduced by the Forest Stewardship Council, which has set an international standard for responsible forest management considering both ecological but also socio-economic criteria. The FSC label provides assurance, that the wood based raw-materials of products originate from responsible forest management according to the FSC standard or meet the criteria of the FSC Chain of Custody standard.
For detailed information refer to the FSC registered certificates.
The PEFC label has been introduced by the Programme for Endorsement of Forest Certification, which forms a global umbrella organisation for the assessment and mutual recognition of national forest certification schemes. The PEFC label verifies, that the wood based raw-materials of products originate from forests certified according to one of the forest certification systems endorsed by PEFC or meet the criteria of the PEFC Chain of Custody standard.

Following the initial certification in Austria, the Europapier branches in Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia and Slovenia achieved in 2008 both FSC and PEFC Chain of Custody certification. In the near future all national branches of Europapier will contribute to Europes sustainability with the FSC/PEFC Chain of Custody certification.
