U.S. EPA Publishes Key Regulation Regarding Silvers Use for Indirect Food Contact Sanitization
Thursday 11. June 2009 - PURE Bioscience (NASDAQ: PURE), creators of the patented silver dihydrogen citrate (SDC) antimicrobial, confirmed today that the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) published in todays Federal Register (Vol. 74, No. 110) a new regulation establishing a particular form of silver ion technology as an active ingredient for the sanitizing of food contact surfaces.
The petition was submitted by ETI-H2O, a wholly owned subsidiary of PURE Bioscience.
At this time, PURE does not have a product registered for sale as a food contact surface sanitizer, but the publication of this rule is an important step for expanding the uses of silver dihydrogen citrate.
