Tutorial offered for optimal preparation

Monday 08. June 2009 - International Newspaper Color Quality Club 2010-2012

The International Newspaper Color Quality Club Competition is recognised as the worldwide benchmark for newspaper printing quality. IFRA is now offering potential participants Tutorials to help them prepare for the next round (INCQC 2010-2012) because good preparation is the best precondition for a successful participation.

A series of one-day Tutorial events is scheduled for June 2009 in Darmstadt, July 2009 in Hyderabad (India), October 2009 in Darmstadt and Vienna, as well as in November 2009 in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) and Jakarta (Indonesia).

The topics dealt with at the Tutorials will include:
• Quality management in practice
• The ISO 12647-3 newspaper printing standard
• Colour spaces in newspaper printing
• Grey balance
• Control of dot gain
• Measuring techniques, measurement and evaluation
• The IFRA Cuboid and its use
• Evaluation reports as a quality barometer
• Analysis of the competition procedure

Participants receive detailed basic information, practical tips, and learn what to pay attention to when carrying out the printing tests.

Since it was called into being in 1994, the International Newspaper Color Quality Club (INCQC) has been supported by the newspaper associations NAA (North America) and PANPA (Australia). They have been joined by the following newspaper organisations: ATDL (Latin America), ASIG (Italy), Sanomalehtien Litto (Finland), Tidnings Utgivarna (Sweden), MBL (Norway) and ZMG Zeitungs Marketing Gesellschaft (Germany).
