Imprim Plus Brings Laminating In-House with an Autobond Mini 76 TP
Thursday 16. April 2009 - French commercial printer Imprim Plus in Crosne near Paris is now able to provide its customers with a first class sheet-fed laminating service following the installation of a Mini 76 TP from UK manufacturer Autobond.
The new laminator was supplied by Ollagnier in Lyon, which represents Autobond in France, along with manufacturers such as Busch, Hohner, Brandtjen & Kluge and Grassi.
“We handle a wide range of commercial print, from business cards to brochures, and previously we sent laminating work to specialist finishing houses,” says Imprim Plus manager Thierry Auvitut. “We reached a stage where it made sense to bring laminating in-house, so that we did not have to rely on outside companies over which we had no control.
“One of the features we liked about the Autobond Mini 76 TP is its ability to laminate both sides of the sheet in one pass through the machine, which is a huge advantage in terms of additional productivity and the speed with which we can delivery work to customers. Since its installation the Mini 76 TP has performed extremely reliably, producing excellent results on a consistent basis. The training and support given by Autobond and Ollagnier has also been very good.”
Olivier Thion is manager for the French market at Ollagnier. “Weve experienced a high level of interest in Autobond laminators in recent months as printers seek ways of controlling costs and delivery time, while providing a greater range of value added services to their clients,” says Mr Thion. “The high productivity, speed of make-ready and quality of output make the Autobond laminators very attractive to many sheet-fed printers, most of which are asked to handle laminating work at some point.
“The Mini is so straightforward to use that many customers have more than one operator trained at the same time, which gives them useful flexibility. Often, customers win extra laminating work once they have their own facilities, with several reporting that they also win additional orders for their presses.”
