Favini launches the new Majestic catalogue

Thursday 04. June 2009 - Favini, the specialist paper manufacturer, presents the new catalogue for the Majestic range, the first with the contemporary corporate image.

Majestic uses sophisticated combinations of effect pigmented coatings and colours that result
in shimmering metallic and iridescent surfaces and a luxurious feel.

Majestic is the top range of Favini’s “metallics”, an exclusive collection of papers with
matching envelopes, and is ideal for creative applications such as business and greeting
cards, covers, catalogues and corporate styling.

The typical “metallic” effect of Majestic paper is due to a coating containing effect pigments,
mica crystals or synthetic platelets covered with a thin coat of colourless metal oxides that
attract and reflect light. This is the same ingredients used to create pearly, glossy and
sparkling effects for lipstick, nail polish and eye-shadow or car paints, without using free
metals or noxious substances.

Majestic’s colour is the result of a clever interaction between coloured paper and the coating
containing pearly and iridescent pigments. Majestic’s chromatic range is appreciated
especially for its discreet and elegant shine.

Majestic is available in a rich range of classic and new colours and in 3 grammages (120, 250
and 290), divided in 3 lines with different inspirations: Classic, with a range of 18 colours
including MARBLE WHITE and the new colours MILK, PETAL, SAND and AZUR; Chameleon1-
side coated, with five eccentric colour shift effects and duplex optics and the two Chameleon
light colours; Luxus, with its two luxurious metallic versions REAL GOLD and REAL SILVER.

Majestic uses ECF (Elemental Chlorine Free) pulps and is FSC certified. It represents a valid
option for ecologically sustainable designs and is produced in line with Favini’s commitment
of total respect for the environment.

Majestic can be recycled, incinerated and is biodegradable and the surface meets the
requirements in order to comply with ISO 9706 and ANSI/NISO Z39.48-1992 standards
(long-life, acid free).

Both Favini mills in Rossano Veneto (Venice) and Crusinallo (Milan) have a long experience in
the production of speciality papers. Favini dedicates an R&D laboratory to the study of the
quality and consistency of effect coated papers. From here stems the high quality of
Majestic, its excellent physical-chemical characteristics, excellent drying qualities, printability
and stiffness. Majestic is suitable for all main printing techniques.
