Customer visit “extra large”

Wednesday 03. June 2009 - For North American customers Kolbus had organized a special "Open House" in April. "Technology demonstrated, not just exhibited" had been the slogan. Around 100 guests came from the USA and Canada in order to see the vast potential offered by the Kolbus book binding machines.

The customers had been splitted into four groups and for each group an individual programme had been arranged and organised so that specific information related to the needs and requirements for the customer groups could be shown. In the show room and demonstration center “Blauer Salon” the recent Kolbus product programme had been demonstrated live to the participants – from a single machine to complete inline manufacturing systems. Besides being at the Kolbus factory in Rahden, Germany book binderies in the Netherlands, Belgium, Italy, and Germany had been visited so the customers had been able to see the Kolbus machines running in an operating environment.

Highlights during those book bindery visits had been the Kolbus 20,000 cycles/hour perfect binding line as well as the full book production line model BF 530 and the DA 280 casemaker, both introduced at the last DRUPA.

Very positive feedback had been given by attending customers so far. The people had been very pleased by the type of “Open House” as well as the organisation.

This special “Open House” had been organized instead of attending the “Print Chicago” in September this year. The advantages are obvious: ability to show the customers exactly the machine they are interested in – demonstrated at the facility and in production at other customers.
