Manufacturing capacity to be consolidated at Sassenberg

Tuesday 02. June 2009 - The Board of Management of technotrans AG decided to consolidate the group's manufacturing capacity at its largest plant in Sassenberg.

The aim of this strategy is to increase market responsiveness and realise short and long-term potential for savings and reduced costs. The measures include the already completed transfer of cleaning systems from Gersthofen, the transfer of dampening solution circulators and a part of spray dampening systems from the USA, and plans to transfer the manufacturing of ink supply systems from Gersthofen by the end of 2009. “These moves are necessary if we are to continue to take every opportunity to optimise our profit margins, including from a lower level of revenue,” explained Henry Brickenkamp, Spokesman of the Board of Management of technotrans AG. The optimisation of corporate structures moreover affects every area worldwide. Alongside the streamlining of its presence in the Asian market, capacities have already been adjusted mainly in the USA and at Sassenberg. The locations in the USA and at Gersthofen will continue to function as sales, service and technical centres, serving their respective local and regional markets.

“We are convinced that these measures will benefit our customers in a whole range of ways. First, leaner processes will enable us to respond even faster to the market’s requirements. And second, we will be able to supply our comprehensive product range not just from a single source, but actually from a single location. The consolidation of manufacturing operations therefore also reduces the amount of coordination involved and boosts our flexibility.”
