Heidelberg Systemservice Rolls Out Foundation Design Option

Tuesday 02. June 2009 - New Offering Complements Comprehensive Installation and Relocation Service

Heidelberg Systemservice now offers a new Foundation Design option as part of its Installation and Relocation Service for companies looking to install a new press, relocate production or combine multiple plants.

In developing this turnkey Foundation Design package, Heidelberg Systemservice has partnered with an Atlanta-based structural engineering firm to provide complete engineering and geotechnical services involved in designing and pouring a concrete reinforced flat pad prior to the installation of heavy printing machinery on a graded soil surface.

For a fixed price, the customer will receive a comprehensive design, including all professionally certified construction documents and on-site engineering support. The new service is offered for all Heidelberg Speedmaster products, as well as for Heidelberg Dymatrix 105 and 106 die cutters.

“Our new Foundation Design option is an extension of Heidelberg’s Systemservice Installation and Relocation Service, which provides planning and project management for the dismantling, transport and re-assembly of prepress, press and postpress equipment in a new location,” said Rodney Strasser, director, Systemservice product management. “In the market today, we see a marked increase in plant consolidations, as well as in the movement of equipment from one location to another. The Foundation Design Option is one more way Heidelberg Systemservice helps customers protect their valuable equipment investment.”

Comprehensive Package of Services
Systemservice Installation and Relocation is the most secure method for de-installing and re-installing Heidelberg equipment. With unlimited access to Heidelberg’s global support network and global inventory of parts, only factory-trained Heidelberg technicians have the tools and experience to ensure that equipment remains as productive after the move as it was before. Systemservice Installation and Relocation also includes pre- and post-move print testing to ensure that equipment has not been damaged in the relocation process. In addition to the new Foundation Design Services, other features include:

Material workflow analysis
Equipment rigging by Heidelberg-approved vendors
Inspection of equipment during dismantle and reinstall
Recommended repairs to ensure machine productivity
Partial cleaning of the machine, if necessary
Startup of the machine by a Heidelberg instructor
Analysis of current hardware and software configuration

This level of expertise can only be delivered by Heidelberg Systemservice.
