The Post of Sweden chooses Schur again

We are proud to announce that once again the Post of Sweden has ordered equipment for direct mail handling from Schur Packaging Systems.

Monday 01. June 2009 - We are proud to announce that once again the Post of Sweden has ordered equipment for direct mail handling from Schur Packaging Systems.

This multi-million order consists of five state-of-the-art collator lines for extension of the Post of Sweden’s plants in Malmo and Gothenburg. For the Post of Sweden an option in an existing agreement made this investment possible and with these five new lines, Schur Packaging Systems is pleased to be the exclusive supplier of all equipment for direct mail handling for this particular customer.

Schur secures higher performance

As a leading supplier of mailroom solutions and equipment for direct mail handling we focus on being innovative and developing new solutions together with our customers. The Post of Sweden has benefited from this strategy. With our technology the high level of accuracy leads to less waste, lower costs and new business possibilities. The Post of Sweden has added a competitive edge to their mailing services as they can create individual packages of promotional print and target their products down to a single copy

With the two new lines for the plant in Malmo and three lines for the plant in Gothenburg the technology from Schur Packaging Systems brings the Post of Sweden one step closer to full automation of their production, as they are not only delivered with the TMS system (PC based production control system) but also with IDS. The informative display system IDS, will optimize the production and provide the personnel with a complete overview of the collating process. These new lines have also been redesigned for improved ergonomics, with lower table height and shorter working distance to the feeder.

A history of cooperation

Apart from the plants in Malmo and Gothenburg the Post of Sweden has 7 other facilities located all over Sweden. They have been dealing with direct mail handling for many years but the mechanical handling began in 1999. The collaboration between the Post of Sweden and Schur Packaging Systems started when the first standard collator machines were delivered back in 2002. The cooperation has expanded ever since and as a result of the close relationship, many new solutions have been developed – and adapted to the needs of the Post of Sweden. This has now resulted in five new state-of-the-art collating lines.

Each line consists of an A 883 Collator with 20 to 22 feeders, Pegasus stacker, online bundle address labelling and strapping machine. They will be installed during May, June and August and we look forward to continuing our good cooperation with the Post of Sweden.
