Since customers requirements vary greatly in production printing, a print system needs to be highly flexible. But what every customer wants is fast delivery and high-quality printouts. The newly launched ineo 950 from DEVELOP performs well in all three respects. This monochrome systems proven reliability capably meets the needs of high-volume print environments, the output quality is impressive and the numerous finishing options guarantee the required flexibility. As an entry-level production system, the ineo 950 has a lot to offer.

Printing power
The ineo 950 is designed to meet the needs of production printing environments such as in-house printrooms or digital printshops. With a maximum monthly output of 750,000 sheets (or 5,700 per hour), this system can deal with any number of high-volume jobs. Since the paper feeder can take up to 6,650 sheets and the maximum tray capacity is 3,200 sheets, the ineo 950 has enough input and output capacity for production print jobs. The standard controller processes files fast and the optional PostScript plug-in rounds off the systems production profile. However, all this printing power does not come at the expense of use friendliness. A clearly arranged touchscreen operating panel and simple navigation system ensure the ineo 950 is easy to use.
Media flexibility
Digital printshop customers arrive with requests for all kinds of media, formats, weights and colours. Here, this systems flexibility is a big advantage. It prints and copies anything from thin paper to thick card (up to 300 g/m2) and any format from A6 to A3+. Intelligent document management software is another advantage in a busy production environment. When repeat orders arrive, any files stored on the systems hard disk can be reprinted individually or all together – with all the original print settings unchanged. If only individual pages are required from a stored file, they can be simply picked out and printed. Another useful feature is the systems standard duplex function. This is not only what many customers demand anyway but also halves paper consumption.
Finishing finesse
Professional-quality printing is a must in a production environment. Here, the ineo 950 comes with numerous options to ensure perfectly finished documents. Booklets of up to 20 sheets (80 A4 pages) can be produced online and the edges trimmed to the required format. Pre-printed full-colour cover sheets or any other thicker sheets can be inserted into a document after printing, e.g. to enhance a black&white report. The optional Z-fold unit allows A3 documents to be folded for inclusion in A4 printouts. Documents of up to three pages can be letter-folded and the individual pages of a document printed and stapled in different ways. That is particularly useful when mailshots are directed at different target groups, for example. Other time-saving finishing features include 2-point stapling for up to 100 sheets, corner stapling (with a choice of corner) for up to 100 sheets and 2- or 4-hole punching, even for post-inserted documents.
Smart scalability
Although basically designed as an entry-level system, the ineo 950 can easily grow with an expanding production printing business. The tandem-printing software required to couple a second ineo 950 to the first, and thus double the output, is normally an expensive extra. With this system it is pre-installed. All the user needs is a normal Ethernet cable and the standard ineo controller. Tandem printing takes the ineo 950 into the segment normally occupied by high-speed production machines – but two ineo 950s much less expensive. For this reason alone, the ineo 950 is a smart investment with significant scalability potential.
