Quebecor World Expands Newsweek Service Relationship With New Agreement to Print Budget Travel Magazine
Wednesday 29. April 2009 - Quebecor World Inc. has signed a multi-year agreement to print Arthur Frommer's Budget Travel, a growing monthly magazine with a print run exceeding 750,000 copies published by Newsweek Budget Travel, Inc.
The agreement also allows for the printing of two annual “Girlfriend Getaways” special issues. The Budget Travel volume is new business to Quebecor World, which has printed the West Coast editions of Newsweek’s flagship title for 15 years.
“Growing our business with Newsweek with the Budget Travel title is a significant enhancement of our relationship with this important customer,” said Kevin J. Clarke, President of Quebecor World’s Publishing Services Group. “Budget Travel has established a growing and leadership niche in the travel publishing market, and in today’s economy offers a particularly relevant editorial and advertising service. We look forward to being part of Budget Travel’s future success.”
Ton Vu, Production Director for Budget Travel, said Quebecor World’s combined production and distribution plan was a key to the new agreement: “We know that Quebecor World can deliver on the quality our readers and advertisers demand. But as a magazine that emphasizes overall value in the travel category, we also look for that in our printer. Quebecor World will use its advanced co-mail and related technologies to deliver a superior magazine production solution for our company.”
