Océ ColorStream innovation continues with introduction of fifth color station

Customers can adapt speed and cost according to color use

Thursday 02. April 2009 - Customers can adapt speed and cost according to color use

Océ, an international leader in digital document management and delivery, today announced a fifth color station for the award-winning Océ ColorStream family of full color, web-fed production printers. Customers can now print 1/1, 2/2, 3/3 and full-color output with an additional Océ CustomTone spot color – in a single system. The innovative digital Océ press automatically adapts speed and costs according to the application’s color use. Océ launched the fifth color printing capability at the Hunkeler Innovation Days last month in Luzern, Switzerland.

With its Océ CustomTone capabilities, the Océ ColorStream family is ideal for applications that require a specific color for logos or other branding purposes. These custom colors often fall outside the CMYK color gamut. Now customers can easily include special corporate colors in full color financial statements, marketing collateral, direct mail and other critical color documents.

Customers benefit from from more flexibility and greater affordability

With this unique feature, Océ strengthens its commitment to Job Appropriate Color output by giving customers more flexibility and affordability for their color applications. With Océ CustomTone — the largest custom color program on the market — specific corporate colors can be developed and produced with the highest accuracy and operational flexibility. A simple exchange of the Océ Quick Change Developer Station allows the easy introduction of an infinite number of Océ CustomTone choices.

Beside CMYK and CustomTone printing, the flexibility of the Océ ColorStream series allows use of the printer for custom color storage. This gives customers the equivalent of a 2/2 printer, but with the ability to store up to eight additional colors (plus black) in the printer, and choose from these without swapping toner stations. Fewer change outs result in less operator intervention and less downtime for greater productivity. The fifth color station is available on Océ ColorStream printers from March 2009 onwards.
