The Press-Enterprise Takes Online Classifieds to New Level

Friday 27. March 2009 - AdPay's innovative approach brings a consolidated search experience to online visitors

The Press-Enterprise Company unveiled today its redesigned classified portal at PE.com, becoming the first newspaper in the country to provide an aggregation of other local classifieds such as Craigslist.

The PE.com classified marketplace features a single entry point for intuitive keyword searching. Results from PE.com are displayed first while other listings from sites such as Craigslist and Oodle are displayed in a second tab. AdPay Local Aggregation keeps users engaged on the site while allowing The Press-Enterprise to monetize non-PE generated ad content page views.

Providing consolidated online classified searches for its customers, the www.PE.com/classifieds marketplace features:

— A single, user friendly keyword search and geographic search for all
classified categories
— Results from Craigslist, Oodle and other available listings framed
within the site pages
— Ability to upload videos for customer ads
— Ability to set alerts, watch ads and maintain a clip list

“This innovative solution gives consumers the most comprehensive classifieds in the Inland Empire by searching the online listings of every major outlet, including Craigslist,” said Ginger Neal. “AdPay’s methodology ensures proper credit is given in the presentation of the ad so copyright protection for the advertiser is honored. Sites like Craigslist no longer have to be a threat – with AdPay Local Aggregation they are a partner.”

“Local Aggregation, and vendor consolidation, is the next step for media classifieds. Local users can find exactly what they’re looking for in a one-stop shopping experience that keeps them coming back,” said Mike Heene, President and CEO of AdPay, Inc.
