Wednesday 25. March 2009 - Photographer Tim Flach's latest book, EQUUS, will be available in an exclusive collectors' 'Carbro Edition'.
Including original signed platinotype and carbro prints, the 300 page volume will be hand bound in an Italian silk printed cover and delivered in a fine leather case designed and made by Asprey. Asprey celebrate the best in craftsmanship, design and material to offer their clients objects to treasure.
To highlight the book, Tim Flach has teamed up with Epson to produce a large, 60″ print of one of the images included in the book. The print will be mounted on aluminium and hung in the New Bond Street store from the middle of April. Tim Flach explained, “Whilst the print will not be viewed close up, it is still important that the fine detail of the ‘Horse Mountain’ image is visible. Epson’s Stylus Pro 11880 has given me the quality and detail I demand. I have also been using Epson’s latest printer, the Stylus Pro 7900, because of its astonishingly accurate colour reproduction, to output the proof prints for the ‘Carbro Edition’.”
The Epson Stylus Pro 7900 utilises a new 5th generation pigment ink, which is key to the quality of print output. Epson UltraChrome HDR (High Dynamic Range) ink is an 11-colour ink set. This high quality ink set expands on Epson’s UltraChrome K3 with Vivid Magenta by adding Orange and Green inks, which significantly increases the range of colours that can be achieved, especially bright green to yellow, and yellow to red. The Orange ink in particular contributes to improved skin tones. Epson UltraChrome HDR pushes the limits of ink chemistry to deliver the widest colour gamut on the market to date on a variety of media.
