A great edition of IPACK-IMA to improve competititiveness and mark a turning point in the world crisis
Wednesday 25. March 2009 - The doors are about to open on a great IPACK-IMA, probably the most significant edition over the last few years in the light of the current economic difficulties facing the market.
Its importance is based on impressive figures, on an outstanding context within the “Cosmic Event” – the name chosen by the organizers Ipack-Ima Spa and Centrexpo spa for this unique conjunction of world-renowned exhibitions – and on the events on schedule, making it a one-of-a-kind show. It is set to give a strong boost to the industry providing an important springboard to overcome the economic crisis thanks to its all-comprehensive world-class display and the participation of top market players from every part of the globe.
IPACK-IMA 2009, with its long-standing tradition since its first edition in 1961, is an irreplaceable tool of collective marketing representing a point of contact between the offer and demand for processing and packaging technology. The top providers of technology for the food and non-food industry on one hand, and users companies from Europe, the Mediterranean basin and emerging countries in Eastern Europe and the Middle East on the other will meet, discuss, exchange ideas and opinions and do business, creating one of the industrys most influential communities on a global level.

What is on display at IPACK-IMA? An extremely varied product offer serving every segment of the industry. Twelve thematic routes making all the latest industry innovations available for visitors. The exhibition will feature the participation of 1.400 exhibitors from 35 countries, occupying 7 pavilions, with an international presence of 30%.
These elements make IPACK-IMA even stronger as the worlds reference exhibition for the grain-based food industry and for pasta-making machinery. In addition to its original core of packaging and processing machinery (38% of the exhibit) IPACK-IMA has evolved to include the entire production cycle.
The beverage, food and chemical-pharmaceutical industries occupy a greater exhibiting surface compared to past editions. This edition will dedicate one of the 12 thematic route to pet food packaging, one of the segments displaying growth in spite of the general decrease in consumption.
IPACK-IMAs worldwide renown and exhaustiveness have earned it the honour of being chosen as the venue for the international conference “More Technology, Safety & Quality, Less Hunger”, with the patronage of the Italian Government through the Ministry of Agricultural, Food and Forestry Policy and the Ministry of Economic Development and the support of UN agencies FAO, WFP, UNIDO and IFAD. This conference is the height of a rich program of events placing IPACK-IMA at the heart of the Cosmic Event.
For five days beginning today, Fiera Milano will be the center of instrumental mechanics on a global level.
