AGI MEDIA SLOUGH RECEIVES ADDITIONAL ENVIRONMENTAL ACCREDITATIONS
Monday 09. March 2009 - MWVs AGI Media, a leading supplier of packaging solutions for the media entertainment industry, announced today that its Slough operation achieved two environmental certificates in the last year: the ISO 14001 accreditation and Sonys Green Partner supplier recognition.
The ISO 14001 accreditation means that AGI Slough has an environmental system that meets the international standard. This involved setting up a system to lessen the facilitys impact on the environment. General Manager, Andy Watts, stated At AGI Slough, we have processes in place that allow us to manage waste with a high level of efficiency, which includes recycling board and products and reprocessing chemicals used in manufacturing our solutions. Our team worked together to achieve these targets in a very short space of time and this has also resulted in cost and production efficiency.”
The company has also received Sonys Green Partner supplier recognition which provides significant value and assurance to customers. Sony requires this accreditation to be renewed every two years.
AGI Sloughs other existing accreditations include: ISO 9001 NQA quality management standard; FACT (Federation Against Copyright Theft); and the International Safety Award from the British Safety Council in 2008 for safety procedures and working practices. Additionally, AGI Slough now has chain of custody certification from both FSC and Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification schemes (PEFC), which provides third-party validation of MWVs sustainable fibre sourcing practices, and helps assure customers and consumers of the company’s responsible environmental stewardship.
