White Birch Paper Announces Market Related Downtime at Bear Island Mill

Monday 02. March 2009 - White Birch Paper Company announced today that it will take market related downtime at its Bear Island mill in Ashland, Virginia.

The planned shut-down will take place from March 8th, 2009 through March 30th, 2009 and will result in approximately 15,000 metric tons of reduced newsprint production. White Birch will maintain adequate inventories to ensure that its customers will not experience any service interruptions during the shut-downs.
