Dow To Showcase Innovative Polyurethane Systems Products at UTECH Europe 2009

Monday 23. February 2009 - Dow Polyurethanes, a business group of The Dow Chemical Company, will be showcasing its continued innovation and broad offering of solutions for customers at the UTECH Europe 2009 Conference (Stand 2030).

In a period characterized by volatility, Dow understands that living its commitment to both customers and the polyurethanes industry has never been more crucial.

“Never have relationships with our customers been more critical than during this time of uncertainty in the marketplace,” said Herman Motmans, Global Marketing Director, Dow Polyurethanes. “In today’s challenging economy, it’s important to be even closer to our customers and work with them to develop solutions that can address unmet needs and help to enable business growth.”

This year Dow will highlight new and expanded offerings in its polyurethane systems portfolio, including the launch of VORATHERM polyisocyanurate, a range of products for metal-faced panel production, offering excellent insulation properties and greatly enhanced fire performance. These new products are designed to help rigid panel producers keep pace with changing market requirements, which demand higher fire ratings and excellent thermal insulation properties.

Dow will showcase its pioneering developments in the appliance segment by highlighting its new generation low k-factor and fast-curing range of VORATEC polyurethane components, which improve energy and cost efficiency – all without density penalty.

Other innovations Dow will showcase include a range of TDI-based prepolymers offered under the HYPERLAST and DIPRANE Dow Hyperlast brands. Dow Hyperlast will exhibit its portfolio of products and technologies for the first time as part of the Dow booth following Dow’s acquisition of Hyperlast Limited in 2007.

Dow representatives will also be available to discuss the latest developments in furniture and bedding, and will be presenting technical papers on Dow’s new polyol for high resilience (HR) foams created via RENUVA Renewable Resource Technology, and a next generation solution for viscoelastic foams with improved performance and processing latitude.

Dow is presenting nine papers at the conference:
