The Escenic Java API is included in the standard license
Tuesday 17. February 2009 - Escenic Content Engeine has an extensive Java API for extending the standard functionality, creating new plug-ins, etc.
Escenic has an extensive JSP tag library, normally combined with JavaServer Pages Standard Tag Library (JSTL), which is used for all common functionality on a website. There is normally no need to do any Java programming when developing a website on the Escenc platform. There is, however, a Java API for creating custom components, new plug-ins or other specialized solutions.
Example uses for the Escenic Java API:
Integration with search solutions, such as FAST and Autonomy (Escenic Content Engine uses Apache Solr)
Integration with print systems – there already exist integration solutions for CCI NewsGate, Infomaker and about 10 others.
Any kind of plug-ins, such as the Escenic Modules
The Escenic Java API is documented in the “Escenic Content API Guide”, and also with standard JavaDoc. Both are available at Escenic Technet.
The Escenic Java API previously required an additional license, but it now included in the standard license.
