CTP - Computer to Plate

Thairath Daily has successfully automated its workflow with ppi Media

Friday 13. February 2009 - Smooth transition from CTF to CTP

Thailand’s daily with the highest circulation figures of approx. 1 m copies, the Thairath Daily in Bangkok, has streamlined its newspaper production with the end-to-end workflow from ppi Media. The ppi-Installation that contains workflow modules for edition planning (PlanPag), page assembly (ProPag) and output management (printnet OM) has been completed in August 2008 after a smooth system migration path, that had started in the fall of 2007. The goal of the Bangkok publisher was to assure the transition from CTF to CTP and, in addition to this, to lay the foundations for more transparency, efficiency and flexibility in the business processes. Therefore, the Thairath Daily also integrated a recently in-house developed ad booking system and the existing editorial system. The ppi page assembly (ProPag) is working in PDF-mode. Today, the ppi workflow enables the publisher to install, test and integrate new pre-press systems (e. g. CTP, punch & bending) short-term.
