Monday 09. February 2009 - Digital printing, main attraction at this new show
Over 350 brands represented at 120 stands will participate in the first edition of graphispag_digital which will be held from the 11th to the 14th of February 2009. Specialising in prepress, digital graphic technology and screen printing, the new show will present products and services that open up new business opportunities for graphic arts and related sectors. Graphispag digital, which will be held in the Gran Via exhibition centre, will offer numerous educational and cultural proposals and expects an audience of 16,000 graphic communication professionals.
Organised by Fira de Barcelona in collaboration with the Graphispack Association, graphispag_digital was born from the merger and transformation of Graphintro and Serigraph, dedicated to graphic solutions and to screen printing, pad printing and large format digital printing respectively, held for the last time in 2005. Taking place every four years,graphispag_digital will alternate with Graphispag, the Spanish graphic industry’s leading show which will be back in 2011.
graphispag_digital will feature firms from the following areas: digital printing screen and pad printing prepress; machinery and equipment for finishing and converting graphic products; printing materials and substrates; publishing and digital communication equipment and systems; software, equipment and accessories for graphic design; equipment, materials and services for advertising and signage; photographic service companies.
In total, over 8,500m2 of stands space will feature solutions based on the new technologies which improve productivity in the graphics sector. 64% of the show’s space will house digital printing, a system in full expansion which provides a complement for graphics firms that use other techniques, such as offset and screen printing. Other sectors, such as photographic laboratories, advertising agencies, design agencies, textile decoration, reprography centres, among others, are also incorporating digital printing in order to diversify their services and access new markets.
Seminars and conferences
The show will host more than ten seminars and conferences, organised in collaboration with associations, companies and organisations, on the latest trends and technological advances in equipment and software, as well as the new possibilities offered by the graphics market. The list of topics to be debated includes: opportunities for the graphics sector in times of crisis; the present and future of flexography; the applications of digital printing for promotion and transactional marketing; the control of software and hardware in graphic design; new products and services in large and medium format digital printing; screen printing as an improvement of graphic products; the economic situation and its impact on graphics companies;certification in the graphics industry; training in graphic arts and job prospects in the sector.
