Sun-Times Media Group Announces Receipt of Consents

Monday 19. January 2009 - Sun-Times Media Group, Inc. (Pink Sheets: SUTM) today announced the receipt from Davidson Kempner Capital Management LLC of consents purporting to effect the reconstitution of the Company's board of directors.

The Company intends to retain an independent inspector to verify such consents as soon as practicable.
