Timbuktu Media Group in West Africa chooses DTI Editorial Solution
Tuesday 23. December 2008 - DTI Editorial accelerates new newspaper launch
Digital Technology International (DTITM), the world’s leading developer of audience-centric Web, print, and mobile publishing solutions, today announced the Timbuktu Media Group in Nigeria, West Africa published its Web-first edition today through DTI software. The group’s printed papers, NEXT and NEXTonSunday will be distributed in multiple cities simultaneously in Nigeria, in the UK, and in the United States – a first for an African publication.
The technology driving the project is DTI Editorial; a sophisticated database managed multimedia publishing system developed by DTI. The software enables the newspaper’s journalists to create content for delivery via Web, print, mobile or other digital device while automatically assuming the correct layout and format.
“NEXT is launched to provide news and informed opinion fairly and accurately to the Nigerian public in any land, based on the best judgment of the editors, and in a way that serves the public purpose and is compatible with the demands of an open and democratic society,” said Dele Olojede, publisher, Timbuktu Media Group. “We will deliver this to you wherever you are and by every means – via the Web, on your mobile devices, to your desktop, on YouTube and Facebook – anywhere we can find you.”
“There will always be new opportunities for innovative publishers who understand that their audience is dynamic and multidimensional,” said Paul Gillogaley, DTI vice president, international. “Our technology has been designed for the ever changing needs of the modern, streamlined, multimedia newsroom. It is this that will allow NEXT to deliver content how, when and where they wish. We are proud to be associated with Dele Olojede and we support him and his colleagues in the launch of NEXT.”
