ANL Plastics ecoPP

Wednesday 26. November 2008 - Why producing packaging with a 100 times longer lifespan than that of its contents ?

ecoPP – the material of the future !
In close cooperation with its suppliers, ANL Plastics has perfected a new PP formula. When exposed to UV light, after a programmed period of time, this PP version degrades first physically and then biologically. This property is achieved by adding additives to conventional types of PP.
Our know-how allows us to program the degradation period going from a few months to a few years.
Important information: ecoPP material maintains completely conventional PP’s functionality: ecoPP is suitable for food applications, is temperature- and microwave-resistant and can be processed in the same way as conventional PP.
The material also has the same sealing properties and is recyclable identical to regular PP.

ecoPP – programmable degradability
The degradation starts after normal use of the packaging and is initiated by UV radiation. Depending on our “programming”, different steps are completed in a certain time span.
The decomposition of material by UV radiation is a well- known process.
ANL Plastics uses this natural process to find a solution against litter, for example.
We accelerate this extremely slow and natural process in a controlled, programmable manner.
