TOSHIBA TEC MAKES PAPERLESS OFFICE REALITY

Wednesday 19. November 2008 - e-BRIDGE Re-Rite solution converges scanned paper documents into editable and searchable digital files

With e-BRIDGE Re-Rite solution software from Toshiba TEC the paperless office is one step closer to reality. The software extends the capabilities of any Toshiba e-STUDIO Multifunction Peripheral (MFP) by turning paper documents into digital documents hence enhancing productivity across the office environment.

The easy-to-use solution leverages state-of-the-art optical character recognition (OCR) technology and requires only minimal user intervention. Documents, both image and text, are scanned using Toshiba TEC’s Enhanced Scan Templates (EST) and are automatically converted into searchable and editable files. The OCR supports 29 different languages and provides 17 different output formats. Converted files can be sent directly to a shared network drive, an FTP server or any e-mail address. The solution also supports the automated storing of documents in structured folders.

“e-BRIDGE Re-Rite is a simple but effective document management and workflow tool, suitable for companies of all sizes,” said David Beit-On, product manager for solutions at Toshiba TEC. “It frees staff resources and extends the value of the MFP for the company by securing a better ROI and long-term investment.”

e-BRIDGE Re-Rite is a server-based application and makes OCR converted documents available to many users for the cost of a single license. There is no need for software to be installed on any client PC, making it efficient in setup and maintenance.
