BÖWE BELL + HOWELL Spotlights NetSort at GRAPH EXPO

Wednesday 29. October 2008 - Intelligent Mail Barcode Services Provide Business Growth Opportunities

BÖWE BELL + HOWELL (BBH), a leading provider of high-performance document management solutions and services, will highlight at this year’s GRAPH EXPO NetSort, a new sorting software platform that supports full-service use of the Intelligent Mail Barcode (IMB). BBH will demonstrate NetSort’s Web-enabled capabilities in tandem with the recently released Criterion APEX sorter in booth 1253, McCormick Center, Chicago, Oct. 26 to Oct. 29.
“NetSort allows mailers to take advantage of discounts that will be available through full-service use of the IMB,” said Mike Swift, president, BBH Postal and Sorting group. “We’ve combined the best features from our WinSort and MaxiSORT sorting software platforms and added item-level tracking and a scalable client-server architecture to provide a complete web-based solution.”
IMB-specific functionality includes the ability to manage unique mailpiece IDs for the required 45 days across multiple sorters and sites; manage uniqueness of trays and containers; and create and submit electronic mailing reports (Mail.dat and Mail.XML).
Other NetSort functionality includes the use of templates for quick job setups, the ability to set security levels for individual users and the use of remote diagnostics to resolve issues quickly.
Extensive USPS discounts can also be earned with NetSort’s ability to merge mail from multiple-site operations. This can be a significant savings: early results show as much as a 25 percent improvement in five-digit qualification levels when sharing mail. NetSort also minimizes the probability of errors by using item-level tracking and centralized data for mail moved between sites. Additional value can be achieved through address cleansing with optional integration of Mail Manager 2010. This option provides the mailer with a greater assurance of USPS compliance, improved efficiency, higher deliverability rates and savings.
“The Intelligent Mail initiative from the USPS will significantly change the mail processing landscape,” said George Varghese, NetSort product manager. “Our NetSort solution provides unprecedented sorting, tracking and reporting functionality that will enable users to maximize benefits from these changes.”
NetSort will be available in October 2008.
