John Driscoll, Former VP/Publisher Road & Track Is Promoted to Vice President, Group Publisher, HFM U.S. Automotive Group

Monday 27. October 2008 - Alain Lemarchand, President & CEO, Hachette Filipacchi Media U.S. (HFM U.S., www.hfmus.com) announced today that Road & Track Vice President, Publisher John Driscoll has been promoted to Vice President, Group Publisher of the HFM U.S. Automotive Group comprised of Car and Driver and Road & Track magazines.

Driscoll will continue to report to Nick Matarazzo, EVP/Group Publishing Director, Men’s Enthusiast Network/Integrated Sales & Marketing.

Robert Houghtlin, former Vice President, Publisher Car and Driver magazine has joined Jumpstart Automotive Media as Vice President, Sales reporting to President Steve Wilhite. Jumpstart is the leading automotive online rep firm and is owned by HFM U.S.

Lemarchand said: “This is a strategic move toward total integration of our selling efforts to the automotive market. We will offer our clients integrated solutions across brands and platforms which include print, digital, database/CRM, research and events. Consumers who read our magazines are passionate about cars and are not only car buyers themselves but proven to be influential enthusiasts who help others make automotive purchasing decisions. The combination of these readers coupled with the over 7 million buyers reached by the Jumpstart network will prove to be effective and efficient for automotive marketers.”

Matarazzo stated: “John Driscoll has done an excellent job for the company over the years, and his experience and understanding of the business makes him an excellent choice to lead the automotive group. Rob Houghtlin and John have been jointly managing the sales and marketing operations for Car and Driver and Road & Track magazines since October 2005, and their continued teamwork in this new sales configuration will be beneficial in offering clients advertising packages that give access to both enthusiasts who consume Car and Driver and Road & Track on all platforms as well as people who are in the market to buy vehicles.”

Before assuming responsibility for the HFM U.S. Automotive Group, John C Driscoll, Jr. served as Road & Track’s vice president/publisher starting in 2005. He began his career at HFM U.S. in 1995 as western advertising manager for Cycle World. Driscoll joined HFM U.S.’s auto group in 1998 as western advertising manager and was later promoted to western director. In 2004 he was promoted to associate publisher. Prior to joining the company, Driscoll served as sales and marketing manager of Deltran Corporation and was territory manager at Oakley. John is a lifelong motorcycle and automotive enthusiast.
