SmartStrap C30 and C36: two modular strapping solutions
Tuesday 21. October 2008 - At IFRA Expo 2008, Ferag is showcasing two new, fully automatic strapping machines - the SmartStrap C30 and C36 models. Their modular construction means that the components can be used separately for either the transverse or longitudinal strap, or in combination to become an inline cross-strapping machine.
For integration into all lines
The SmartStrap C30 and C36 are identical strapping machines from the conceptual, constructional, comfort and safe-operating points of view. They differ only in their capacity of 30 (C30) and 36 bundles per minute (C36).
The concept behind both strapping machines is modular. They can be con-figured as separate components for transverse strapping only (SmartStrap 30/36-Q), for longitudinal strapping only (SmartStrap 30/36-L), or for inline cross-strapping (SmartStrap 30/36-Q+L) without a turntable. And thanks to the left- or right-handed versions (operating from the left or the right), SmartStrap strapping machines can be integrated into any line.
Light on maintenance, low on energy
With their wear-free direct drives, the new SmartStrap C30/C36 machines are light on maintenance and operate with extremely low energy consump-tion. The generously proportioned touch-screen with graphic user-guidance and a clear, language-neutral display of machine functions makes operation simple and safe. Almost all parameters, including setting and adjusting the strapping distances, are entered on the color monitor.
SmartStrap C30/C36 is equipped with fully automatic tape threading, wear-free force-operated tape guidance, and a pneumatic double bundle-press. As an option, the strapping machines can be equipped with automatic tape tension control. 5 mm textured polypropylene tape is used as the actual strapping material, in thicknesses ranging between 0.4 and 0.5 mm, as tested by Ferag.
Bundle dimensions with SmartStrap C30 and SmartStrap C36 are between 120 x 120 x 10 mm (minimum) and 440 x 450 x 400 mm (maximum).
