The Press-Enterprise Appoints Two Executives to Expand Its Focus Online and in the Hispanic Community
Wednesday 15. October 2008 - The Press-Enterprise Company has announced two important organizational changes as part of its strategy to drive stronger growth in areas of opportunity for the Inland Southern California multimedia company.
The company has named Frank Escobedo as general manager of Hispanic media, and publisher of La Prensa. In this new role, Escobedo will be charged with broadening the Company’s reach into the region’s rapidly growing Hispanic community by sharpening its focus on La Prensa, its Spanish-language newspaper, and expanding its Hispanic media franchise by increasing its portfolio of Spanish-language products.
“The Hispanic community in our region is expected to grow to more than 2 million by 2012, which will represent almost 50% of the population,” says Ronald Redfern, chief executive officer and publisher of the Press-Enterprise Company. “La Prensa had a strong performance this year, and in his role, Frank will be charged with continuing to grow La Prensa’s audience and revenue through the addition of more outlets and home delivery in 2009.”
In a second appointment, Ginger Neal has been named vice president and general manager of multi-media ventures for the Press-Enterprise Company. In this role, Neal will be charged with continuing to lead the company’s online audience and revenue growth for PE.com, and also lead new online initiatives in Southern California to expand the growth of the Press-Enterprise Company’s online and multi-media product portfolio.
“Ginger will continue to work closely with the Press-Enterprise Company’s sales and news organizations to grow our PE.com franchise and our ongoing online partnerships with Cars.com, HomeScape and Yahoo! HotJobs,” says Redfern. “She also will assume responsibility for growing several of our new online products and online-related print products, including the launch of new products to capture more share of the audience in the DMA.
“I’m very enthused to have Frank and Ginger lead these new growth initiatives and the much needed revenue they will drive in these new and important assignments.”
