BASF raises prices for methylamine and methylamine derivatives

Thursday 09. October 2008 - BASF is raising its prices for methylamines and methylamine derivatives in Europe with immediate effect unless existing contracts state otherwise. The markups are due to the rise of costs with regard to handling, logistics and raw materials.

Dimethylamines + 150 €/mt
Trimethylamines + 120 €/mt
Dimethylethanolamines (DMEOA) + 30 €/mt
Monomethylethanolamines (MMEOA) + 30 €/mt
Methyldiethanolamines (MDEOA) + 30 €/mt
3-(Diethylamino)propylamines (DMAPA) + 120 €/mt
N,N-Dimethylacetamide (DMAC) + 40 €/mt

The high-grade specialty amines, which include mono-, di- and trimethylamine, are starting materials for solvents. They also serve as chemical building blocks in the synthesis of crop protection agents, detergent raw materials and feed additives as well as watertreatment products.
