NEW DIGITAL CREASER FROM TOTAL PFS SET TO OPEN UP THE UK DIGITAL CREASING MARKET

Thursday 25. September 2008 - Leading UK finishing equipment supplier, Total PFS, is introducing a new digital creaser to the UK market which it claims will provide print finishers with the most cost-effective option for high-quality off-line digital creasing available in the market.

The TPF 450 SA digital creasing and perforating machine, which will be available exclusively from Total PFS in the UK, can finish up to 2000 Sheets per hour, enables five programmes to be stored in its memory and offers a maximum of 15 creases or perforations per programme.

Says Clive Richardson, managing director, Total PFS: “The new TPF 450 SA will be entering the market at a price point that, when you consider its high level of functionality, will make it an extremely cost-effective option for printers and in-plants who are looking for, but currently can’t afford, existing on-demand digital creasing products in the market. The new machine will be sold at under £4,000 which is exceptionally cost-effective for a machine of this quality and functionality. We believe the TPF 450 SA will help to break down the barriers to entry into the digital creasing sector and enable more printers and in-plants to offer a high-quality, on-demand creasing and perforating service for minimal capital outlay.”

Built in the Czech Republic by finishing machine manufacturer, Cyklos, the TPF 450 SA comes complete with total and batch counters and offers a working width of up to 450mm. It’s able to handle paper weights of up 400 gsm for creasing and 250 gsm for perforating.

Also being introduced to the UK market alongside the TPF 450 SA, are three non-programmable digital creasing machines: the TPF-450 electric creasing and perforating machine, the TPF 435 digital creaser and the TPF 315 digital creaser and perforator. The TPF-450 electric creasing and perforating machine has a working width of 450mm with a maximum paperweight of 400 gsm for creasing and 250 gsm in perforating mode. The TPF 435 is a manual operated A2 digital creaser with a maximum working width of 435mm and supports paper weights of up to 400 gsm. The TPF 315 is an A3 manual digital creaser/perforating machine also offering a maximum paperweight of 400 gsm when creasing and 250 gsm when perforating.

Continues Richardson: “All of these products have been introduced in response to demand we see in the market. There has already been considerable interest expressed in these machines from existing clients and we are confident they will make a significant impact in the off-line, on-demand finishing sector. The introduction of this new product range follows our recent announcement of an exclusive distribution deal with German stapler manufacturer, Skrebba and represents our continued commitment to being a leading supplier of robust, on-demand finishing products in the UK market.”
