International Fruit and Beverage Processor Selects Newly Released Sage ERP X3 Version 5

Thursday 18. September 2008 - Adonix, a Sage company and provider of leading enterprise resource planning (ERP) solutions to mid-market companies, today announced that Leahy/IFP (www.ecarbotrol.com) selected the Sage ERP X3 Process suite version 5.

Located in Glenview, IL, Leahy/IFP is a manufacturer and supplier of fruit and beverage products — including canned fruits, juices, desserts and nutritional supplements — to the foodservice industry.

According to David Clarine, Senior Technology Manager for Leahy, “The demands of the environment in which we operate have increased significantly, particularly in the areas of supply chain transparency, cost containment, and logistical control. In order to continue to exceed the high expectations of our customers, we need to do what we are doing now, only faster and at a lower cost. Implementing the functionality in Sage ERP X3 will allow us to achieve our goal of accelerating our business processes and providing greater value to our customers.”

Leahy reviewed a number of software solutions during its selection process, including some tier one products, but they found Sage ERP X3 offered the best mix of functionality and value. In particular, they favored Sage ERP X3’s pricing engine and integrated development environment.

“In comparison to some of the other ERP packages that we evaluated, the pricing engine of X3 was far superior,” said Clarine. “Not only will the rules based adjustment structure provide us with the necessary flexibility to manage the various pricing models that are currently in place, but it does so in such an elegant manner that the associated administrative overhead required to maintain those models will be considerably lower than it is today.”

A Fully Integrated ERP System

Sage ERP X3 Process is an enterprise-wide set of application modules that addresses the unique and specialized needs of mid-sized process manufacturers. In addition to managing manufacturing, distribution, CRM, warehouse management and accounting functions, the system includes industry-specific capabilities such as formula management, quality control, regulatory compliance and lot tracking. The real-time orientation of the system provides users with access to mission-critical information as business transactions occur, leading to a more timely and effective decision-making process.
