Silver Bullet Technology and Document Capture Technologies Announce Strategic Ranger Licensing Agreement

Tuesday 26. August 2008 - Today at The Association for Work Process Improvement (TAWPI) Forum & Expo, Silver Bullet Technology, a leader in Check 21 data and image tools, and Document Capture Technologies, Inc. (BULLETIN BOARD: DCMT) , a leader in compact page-fed scanners, announced that they have engaged in a strategic partnership to develop Silver Bullet's Ranger(R) for Document Capture Technologies' OEM and VAR line of check scanners.

API Library integrations will begin during the third quarter of 2008, with first anticipated Ranger integrated product delivery expected in the fourth quarter of calendar 2008.

Document Capture Technologies’ (DCT) Remote Capture product family presents an attractive combination of formats (ISO A4, A6 & A8), functions (duplex-simplex), powered through a USB interface (no AC power) and value, producing a cost-effective solution for remote check capture. The DCT Scanner platforms offer the ability to scan documents for remote transactions, in applications that require checks, driver license and photo ID verifications, as well as the scanning of page-oriented documents. The extremely small footprint of the scanner (< 12oz) provides for low-volume images to be transmitted simply and efficiently.

Silver Bullet’s Ranger software allows customers to use virtually any item-processing software with virtually any check-scanning hardware. The addition of Document Capture Technologies’ product to the Ranger family will allow banks and other financial institutions to incorporate this extremely low-priced scanner into their programs without replacing their current software solutions.

“It has become clear that the remote capture check truncation market continues to proliferate and progress,” stated David P. Clark, CEO of Document Capture Technologies. “DCT has developed its line of check capture products to be the simplest and most economical in the market to both operate and service. Our partnership with Silver Bullet to develop Ranger for our Check Scanner solutions will provide a cost-effective alternative for most financial institutions and the cash management needs of most professional offices, small business and healthcare facilities with low volume remote deposit needs.”

“We are delighted to partner with Document Capture Technologies as it offers a compelling low-cost entry opportunity to meet the needs of the millions of businesses that could benefit from the utilization of remote deposit capture,” said Jamille Ellingson, national account executive for Silver Bullet. “Our partnership to develop Silver Bullet’s Ranger for their Check Scanner brings together two companies with a proven track record of quality and efficiency, and we’re looking forward to working with Document Capture Technologies.”
