Baldwin Offers Unique Range at Ifra 2008

Baldwin’s Jetstream removes debris from the paper surface before the first printing unit

Friday 08. August 2008 - Baldwin Technology is the only manufacturer able to provide newspaper and semi-commercial printers with the extensive portfolio of solutions necessary to enhance the productivity of their press, whilst reducing wastage and environmental impact.

The company’s unique automatic blanket cleaning technologies include cloth and brush options, as well as the TowerClean system and Jetstream web cleaning unit, which can be used separately or in highly effective combinations.

Visitors to Baldwin’s IFRA stand can hear about several technical developments. Engineered to set new standards for minimised wash times, paper waste and consumable usage, new ImpactFusion-F and ProTech2 NP blanket cleaning systems have been designed for straight newspaper or semi-commercial print applications where gas dryers or UV curing systems are installed. TowerClean, which accurately applies solvent to the web, provides highly effective blanket cylinder cleaning at a significantly lower investment, and Jetstream, which removes debris from the web prior to the first printing unit, have also become increasingly popular alternative solutions to traditional blanket cleaning systems.

Baldwin is a leading supplier of spray dampening solutions for conventional newspaper or semi-commercial applications. Its Constant C technology is unique in its ability to prevent nozzle blocking, while U59 allows the return water to be re-used even if it contains traces of cleaning agent. The high performance Maxima spray dampening technology ensures print quality standards are met even on the most demanding semi-commercial printing.

At IFRA, Baldwin will also present an expanded range of equipment and consumable technologies for the semi-commercial sector, including ink tray cleaning, web catchers, guide roller cleaners, fold gluing and web softening systems plus dampening solution filtration technology and next-generation PREPAC consumables.
