With the Right Portfolio and a Professional Trade Fair Appearance – Great Success at drupa 2008
Wednesday 06. August 2008 - For Gämmerler the first drupa under the new management has been very positive. The high number of visitors on our booth and the quality of discussions has been a striking feature of this exhibition.
Thus, it is possible to announce purchasing contracts already on site of several million Euros, the majority of which came from South American countries. Subsequently, during the following weeks numerous other projects initiated at the exhibition have been concluded successfully. The main bulk of the visitors came from commercial printing, but also Gämmerler’s newspaper and bindery exhibits attracted attention. All in all the market potential was high mainly for Germany and Western Europe. But also for South America and Eastern Europe, a clear increase of the propensity to invest could be observed.
“During the numerous discussions with our visitors it became evident that Gämmerler products meet the current needs of the printing industry exactly. Not only did our finishing lines and exhibits create high interest, but also the whole trade fair appearance was well received and reflected the high importance Gämmerler is attaching to quality and innovation”, remarked Paul Semrau, Director Sales and Marketing.
Particular interest was shown towards the new bumpturn EM 140, which, due to its 45°-technique is able to optimally convert the kinetic energy and therefore allows a smooth operation, even at high speed and with various copy formats.
Following the market trend of high page count copies, Gämmerler has developed the rotary timmer RS 164. By means of the latest cutting technology due to double knives there is no more shingle nick. The customers were impressed by the easy and safe accessibility of the machine.
The area compensated stacking was represented by the newspaper compensating stacker ZL 810, the most important feature of which is his high flexibility. The possibility of processing high or low page count products by means of a separating shovel or finger makes this machine unique and offers the customer a great advantage.
Many visitors on our booth informed themselves on the logistic system LS 500 which was demonstrated at drupa 2008 for the first time. This system allows the printers another, essential increase of productivity due to a central control system and monitoring of the entire postpress area, as for example precise copy tracking, analyses of waste volumes and numerous other functions opening to the customer a considerable improvement potential. At present the major markets for this product are Germany and Western Europe. However, on the long run an increasing application is being expected for this modular system in other markets as well.
