Pliant Modernizes and Expands Canadian Operations
Thursday 24. July 2008 - Pliant today announced a continuation of its capital investment program for its Canadian operations.
New investment approaching $3MM in 2008, when added to the $4.5MM invested in 2006 and 2007, is significantly improving Pliants product offering for the Canadian market.
Similar to initiatives currently underway in Europe, Asia and Mexico, Pliant has also initiated exciting new strategies to grow its market share in Canada. With the recent addition of a new leadership team and more focus on the needs of the Canadian marketplace, Pliant Canada will actively expand the Companys market share for its industry-leading Meat and Food Wrap, Pallet Wrap, Engineered Films, Personal Care, Medical and Printed products.
Tim French, Pliants Managing Director for Canada said: “Pliant has the most comprehensive offering of quality products available in Canada from a single manufacturer.” Tim re-joined Pliant in March 2008 from Snowbear, where he was CEO, bringing 20 years of plastics industry experience, customer relationships and knowledge of Canadian markets, sales channels and plastics manufacturing processes.

With Canadian headquarters in Orillia, Ontario and existing manufacturing facilities located in Orillia and Toronto, Ontario, Pliant will be actively seeking strategic Canadian acquisitions, as well as expanding its current sales force to better serve the domestic market.
