Friday 18. July 2008 - The Yesterday’s News mailer from Sealed Air offers customers one of the strongest environmental profiles of any protective mailing product available, including high-recycled content, convenient recyclability and conservation of natural resources in manufacturing, distribution and shipping. The padded mailer is the newest addition to Sealed Air’s family of Jiffy brand products for cost-effective, protective mailers for small parcel shipping.

The Yesterday’s News padded mailer includes many environmentally responsible features that set it apart from traditional padded mailers. Recycled newspaper is used to create the mailer’s inner protective batting, while the natural outer and inner kraft material is made from 100-percent recycled content and eliminates the need for dye used to create traditional gold color used for most mailers.

Customers will appreciate how easy it is to recycle the Yesterday’s News mailer, as it is recyclable with mixed paper such as magazines, directories and junk mail. As with all Jiffy mailers, the Yesterday’s News mailer offers postage savings and environmental source reduction with less weight and solid waste than cartons. The Yesterday’s News mailer’s reduction in materials allows for a decrease in bag weight and carton size compared to the traditional Jiffy padded mailer while still offering product protection.

“As a leader in providing protective mailers, Sealed Air’s Jiffy brand is continuing to innovate and develop new products that are responsive to the needs of our customers,” says Paul McEvoy, Sealed Air’s business manager for Jiffy mailers. “This includes seeking cost-effective packaging solutions that reduce our environmental impact.”
